Who builds this
This resource is built by Mike Schneider, founder of Resonator, a marketing consultancy. Mike also builds tools for PR professionals.
Why that matters
Working on both sides of the journalist-PR relationship gives unusual visibility into the tools ecosystem. It also creates an obvious potential conflict of interest, which is why this page exists.
How independence is maintained
- Editorial decisions are never influenced by Resonator's client work.
- This resource operates on a separate domain with a separate identity.
- Security evaluations will be reviewed by an independent advisory board before full publication. Current evaluations are preliminary assessments based on publicly available information.
- If any Resonator-affiliated tool is ever reviewed here, that review will be written by an independent advisor, and this conflict will be noted prominently on the review page.
- No data from this resource is shared with Resonator or any other entity.
Tools we use
This site was built with assistance from Anthropic's Claude. Claude is also one of the tools we evaluate. We have no financial relationship with Anthropic — no sponsorship, no affiliate arrangement, no advisory role. We use Claude the same way we use any tool: as a customer. This is disclosed here and noted on the Claude evaluation page.
Funding
Current funding: self-funded by Mike Schneider's time investment.
Future funding plans: grant applications to journalism-supporting foundations. Any funding received will be disclosed here within 7 days.
What we don't do
- We don't accept payment for favorable reviews.
- We don't use affiliate links.
- We don't track visitors with third-party analytics.
- We don't sell or share any user data (we don't collect any).
- We don't gate content behind email signups or logins.
